What has worked for us recently has been to have data chats at each grade level and really pull together as a team.  One thing I know for sure, as I work at multiple sites, is that the principal is key!  The two sites that were most successful this past year (their ELs met the goals set by NCLB and AYP) had principals who said, "This is the way it's going to be," and then supported teachers as ELD was implemented; demo lessons, planning time, etc.

Successful implementation relies on the active participation and support of district and site leadership. E.L. Achieve facilitates a one-day workshop with a morning overview presentation and afternoon planning session during which administrative leadership will plan how they will support teachers during implementation. During the session, leaders observe a video-taped lesson to complete an Observation Tool providing insights and increasing inter-rater reliability.  E.L. Achieve provides ongoing technical assistance for Implementation Plan development.

Prior to an Administrator Orientation, E.L. Achieve invites districts to attend a Leadership Overview and Implementation Planning session as the first step to get started in providing A Focused Approach professional development.
